Testimonials
A testament to the true value of attending a BASP First Aid courses
"I've just returned from Sri Lanka and would like to thank BASP training that I received. If I didn't have the knowledge that I was given at that course I would have had to watch a lot of people suffer and possible die." Tsunami survivor
"Please can you pass on my thanks to Kate for the excellent 2 day Emergency course she ran for us last year. Naturally we always undertake this type of training hoping that we will never need to put it to serious practical use. However having the knowledge and experience that the BASP courses provide, and a set of guidelines to work with, allow these situations, when they do occur, to be handled objectively without allowing emotional involvement with the casualty to interfere with the process.
A recent experience, when leading a group in Canada, saw one of the ladies with us fall forwards, with both bindings releasing, and apparently hitting her head. After an initial period of non-responsiveness to voice (and subsequent lapses back to this state) she reported a tingling sensation in her hands and feet. Thanks to our BASP training we knew how to handle this, and were able to keep her immobilised and her head supported until the local patrol arrived with the appropriate equipment to take over, and then to assist them with the log-roll procedure.
Several of our party openly admitted that they would not have known how to handle the situation, and some have now expressed an interest in undertaking the training themselves, so that if they ever find themselves in this position again, they will be better prepared to handle it. Maybe, as they say, every cloud has a silver lining....
Regards, and thanks once again,"

"Thank you for the excellent course you presented recently. As a direct result of the course and your insistence that we carry out all the drills practically; I was able to 6 days later to save my wife's life. I carried out the ABC's and called for the ambulance. She was very ill, but is getting better. As you said you never know when you need First Aid." A. Aitkenhead
"The week end itself was by far the best First Aid course my wife and I have been on. Tony is an excellent tutor, being informative, interesting and entertaining. We found the practical day out on snow to be particularly valuable much more so than being on a dry slope" Alan Hamer, BASI candidate
"The reasons for me to choose this course in preference to any was also the location at Glenmore Lodge, its good food, accommodation, access to extra facilities such as climbing wall, pool, gym, the environment is special and spectacular. I have attended many, many courses and on the whole inclusive of all factors: the course content, the instructor Sid Airey, the clientele, the locality and environment, I can honestly say that it was £230 extremely well spent. Good value" Ray Tredwell, MIC member
"I would just like to thank you for the excellent first aid course (2 Day Emergency) I attended in Hemel at the weekend. Kate's instruction was first class, with the outdoor post accident simulations really putting you on the spot and letting you learn from your mistakes." David Harmer
