The content will include: understanding the role of a first aider, accident procedure, vital signs, unconsciousness, Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, AED awareness, wounds and bleeding, choking, minor injuries, personal hygiene in first aid and First Aid kits. Depending on the group and time available some additional subjects may be covered for example, environmental subjects like hypothermia. This course involves some practical outdoor first aid.
Please note this course requires a certain amount of physical activity and candidates will need to demonstrate CPR techniques from the floor in a group environment. Assessments include practical scenarios on a continuous assessment basis and a multiple choice questionnaire. Pre-Requisites
We train candidates to be safe, confident responders - No previous first aid experience is required.
Suitable for
Anyone who wants to know the basics of First Aid, for example someone in the workplace, hospitality & service industry as well as the outdoors. The course will be tailored to your work environment.
Certificate valid
Successful candidates are issued with a BASP certificate valid for 3 years. You can revalidate this qualification by repeating the course.
